I really liked playing under Fran at Lewes. It's important for me to play for a coach and feel valued and seen as a person before a player, and everything Fran does demonstrates that he sees the person first.

Ahead of the 2020/2021 season Fran Alonso recruited centre half Caitlin Hayes as the manager looked to strengthen his defensive options.

The Warrington-born player said the opportunity to reunite with her former Lewes boss and join her "family team" was too good to pass up.

Initially cutting her teeth at Manchester City, Manchester United and Everton, the defender played in the States with Mississippi College before swapping the college game for Champions League with Cypriot outfit Barcelona FA.

With 13 goals in 28 appearances in Cyprus, she adds another scoring threat to Celtic's attacking arsenal.
