Warrington: We need to take the derby test as it comes

By Colette Carr

This weekend’s Glasgow Derby comes with plenty at stake for the Hoops, but Chloe Warrington says the Celts will just need to take it as it comes and be ready for another tough test.

The young defender has impressed in her rookie season with the first team, and already knows what is asked of Celtic in these big games, meaning she’s under no illusion as to what the task at hand is.

“It's another big one, but I'm looking forward to it. Rangers is always a tough test but this week we can't afford to drop any points, so it's another big one for us and we need to take it as it comes," Warrington explained.

Despite knowing the threat their city rivals will pose, Celtic can take confidence from securing five cleansheets in a row, and only conceding twice since their returning day defeat to Glasgow City, something the fullback agreed with, saying, “when you're not conceding and your backline is doing a good job and your goalkeepers are doing well, it's good because your goal difference isn't going down either but it does give you confidence going into the next game, yeah.”

While Celtic have come out on top twice this season already, the teenager isn’t taking anything for granted and knows the hosts will be looking to do everything in their power to deny the Hoops a cleansweep for the season.

“We've beaten Rangers twice now and I am 100% sure they'll come out not wanting that to happen again, so it will be a tough test for us but we're all always ready for that.

“I think they might try and change it up a bit - that's twice we've won against them and not conceded, so we are doing something right and they'll want to make sure that on Sunday they can catch us out,” she told
