Warrington: Celts can take belief from seven game unbeaten run

By Colette Carr

Chloe Warrington believes the fast and furious schedule that’s upon the Celts can only be a positive, as concentration and focus becomes paramount leaving the Hoops no time to dwell on the past.

The fullback has won massive praise for her performances since winning her place in Fran Alonso’s starting eleven and has enjoyed both her defensive and threatening duties.

While Celtic’s winning run was thwarted by Wednesday’s visitors, the Celts are now seven games undefeated, and Warrington knows everyone in the squad needs to remember and take confidence from that, as Hearts lies just around the corner.

“We’re seven games unbeaten and we need to remember that. We need to take confidence from that with all the games now coming thick and fast and it's’ going to be tough,” she began.

“The turnaround is so quick now, so as soon as a game is done on a Wednesday night, focus is on a Thursday for the Sunday, and vice-versa. We need to be fully focused and everyone is. Everyone in the squad is wanting to play a part and will have their role to play.

“We can never underestimate any team we play, so we need to go out and put on a performance against Hearts. They’ll make it tough like every team does for Celtic, so we’ll need to go out and finish our chances and hopefully take the three points.”

Despite not looking too far back with six left to play, the teenager did reflect on how proud she was of her teammates as they battled against the league leaders, hoping they can take that same fight right into and throughout the run in.

“I think every single one of us gave 110% and were all fighting for each other, all the way from Chloe Logan right up to Sarah Ewens, even onto the bench and the girls who weren’t in the squad. Every single one of us had belief going into that game that we could take something out of it. Everyone writes Celtic off before every game and even during the game but the workrate from everyone was phenomenal and I think we were just unfortunate.

"But a point out the game is better than none and the cleansheet is a positive too,” she added.
