Lisa Robertson believes Celtic’s stunning 10-0 win against Hearts in the SWPL1 last weekend can be the springboard for more success this Sunday against Spartans.

The Edinburgh side travel to East Kilbride to face the Hoops on matchday three of the new league campaign and Robertson, who joined the Hoops earlier in the year before the disruption, has started the season well in a deep midfield role and was impressive in the comprehensive win against Hearts.

Ahead of Sunday’s game with Spartans, she said: “It was a really good game at the weekend and everyone is happy with it, so we’re just looking to build.

“Obviously it is really good that we got goals from all over the park. It was a great performance, and we just have to keep building."

Roberston, at 28-years-old, has had an impressive career so far, with two spells at Hibernian where she lifted several trophies before moving to Glasgow City, where she won a league title. And her experience will be invaluable for some of the younger players in the Celtic squad throughout the course of the campaign.

“My advice to them is to keep training, work hard, take advice, listen to the experienced players and also express yourself because these young players are here because they are talented players,” Robertson said. “So take the advice, play and develop as the season goes on.”

And as for this Sunday’s game, Robertson and her Celtic team-mates are anticipating a tough match at K-Park.

“I’ve had lots of clashes with Spartans especially from my Hibernian days,” she said, “and we know it will be a tough game because they are very well-organised.

“Spartans will always be hard to beat. However, if we just focus on what we want to do and if work to the best of our ability and put in the same effort as we did against Hearts last Sunday and as we do in training, then I think the game will take care of itself.”

Celtic play Spartans in the SWPL1 on Sunday November 8 in a 2pm kick-off. Watch all the action online at bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland.
