Five Star Celts go pro

CELTIC are delighted to announce that five key members of its women’s squad have agreed new professional contracts with the club.

Top Ghirls, Chloe Logan, Chloe Craig, Keeva Keenan, Natalie Ross and Sarah Ewens have all committed their futures to the club. The quintet will take their place within Celtic’s exciting new professional structure.

Together with these existing members of the squad who have agreed these new professional contracts, the club will also very shortly be announcing a number of other new exciting signings, players who will also join the professional ranks to work under newly-appointed head coach, Fran Alonso.

Chloe Craig

Celtic’s vice-captain, Chloe Craig is another product of the Youth Academy, and has made 183 first-team appearances for the club, scoring 58 goals in the process. The centre-half is solid in her defensive duties, but also is dangerous in the box, scoring eight goals in the 2019 season.

Keeva Keenan

After winning the 2019 Player of the Year after only one season with the club, Keeva Keenan enjoyed a successful second season at Celtic. The fullback’s excellent Celtic form saw her awarded her first two senior Republic of Ireland caps and score her first two goals for the club – the first from 45 yards out.

Chloe Logan

Goalkeeper, Chloe Logan was the first player to graduate through and play at every age level and all the way up to the first team at Celtic. A successful product of the youth system, Logan left for Stirling University in search of more playing time, and after five years of Scottish domestic experience and British University sport success, she returned to the Hoops in the summer break of 2019. The stopper was thrown straight into action and made her second Celtic debut in the 2019 season restart against Rangers in front of a capacity K-Park for a return to remember.

Sarah Ewens

Sarah Ewens ended 2019 as the club’s top scorer and the only player in the team to score against every team in the league. She recorded 22 goals with a brilliant 10 strikes in the last five games of the season.

Natalie Ross

Midfielder, Natalie Ross won Celtic’s Player of the Year in 2018 and is a combative central midfielder who is in her second spell at Celtic having first signed in 2012, before rejoining in 2016. She controls the midfield and also has an eye for goal picking up seven goals last season, including important counters in the club’s wins over Hibernian and Glasgow City last season.
