Celtic raced to five wins in a row as they swept Forfar Farmington aside in an emphatic 8-0 win at Station Park.

With only 64 seconds on the clock, Anna Filbey set the Celts on their way as she and Mariah Lee grabbed a brace each, and strikes from Izzy Atkinson, Sarah Ewens, Sarah Teegarden and a Chloe Craig penalty completed the rout.

Manager Fran Alonso shuffled the pack again as he re-introduced Kelly Clark into the fold and brought in Atkinson and Rachael Johnstone, with the latter having little to do in between the sticks.

The visitor’s quick start was rewarded almost instantly as Filbey nodded in Lee’s cross from inside the six yard box with just over a minute gone.

Despite the blistering start and numerous chances created, the Celts had to wait until ten before the break to extend their lead, as a flurry of goals really put them in the driving seat. Atkinson opened her Celtic account, Filbey turning provider to swing it into Atkinson in the area for the teenager to control it before sweetly volleying it into the back of the net. And before the scorer was even announced, Celtic had the ball in the net again, this time Ewens stabbing home after a lovely one-two with Filbey.

Incredibly, Filbey again had a hand in the goals, standing strong at the edge of the box to play in Teegarden, who sent a sensational side-footed finish in off the crossbar with just four left to play of the first period.

Just nine minutes after the restart, Celtic were awarded their second penalty in as many games, with Lee again winning the Celts the opportunity after she was brought down, leaving Craig to put it past Lauren Perry with ease. Lee shortly had a more solid penalty claim waved away, but the forward soon got on the scoresheet herself, heading in at the back post from Rachel Donaldson’s cross. ‘

After 74 minutes, Filbey was on the scoresheet again, albeit having seen Ewen’s effort from a Lisa Robertson freekick bounce off her and in. And with three left to play, Lee secured her brace and Celtic’s fifteenth point out of the last possible fifteen, again heading home a well-worked corner to set the Celts up for the visit of Motherwell next week.

Celtic: Johnstone, Craig (Donaldson), Clark, Hayes, Warrington (Bowie), Robertson, Teegarden (Nicolson), Filbey, Lee, Ewens (McAllister), Atkinson (Jacynta)
