Celtic sign Clarissa Larisey from Icelandic champions Valur

By Colette Carr

Celtic FC Women are thrilled to add striker Clarissa Larisey to the squad for the imminent SWPL1 season.

The 22-year-old Canadian joins Celtic from newly-crowned Icelandic champions Valur ahead of this Sunday’s season opener at Aberdeen and adds another attacking dimension to Fran Alonso’s squad.

Heading to Scotland after narrowly missing out on progression to round 2 of the Champions League losing out 1-0 to Hoffenheim, the forward brings an eye for goal having scored 31  while at the University of Memphis where she won the 2018 American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship.

Outside of the collegiate system Larisey scored three goals in four games for West Ottawa in 2018, and nine goals in just two games for OSU Force in League 1 Ontario.

The new reinforcement joins the club subject to international clearance.
