Celtic secure Lisa Robertson for 2020 season

Celtic FC Women are delighted to have signed midfielder Lisa Robertson ahead of the start of the 2020 season on a professional contract.

27-year-old Robertson joins the Hoops after two years at English Championship side Durham bringing a wealth of experience and talent to the club for 2020.

The midfielder impressed in her time in the English second-tier with the Wildcats, offering a threat from set-pieces and notably scoring both goals - including one from the halfway line - in the club’s 2-0 win over top-tier Bristol City to book their place in the quarter finals of the Women’s FA Cup last season, and she leaves the club sitting third on goal difference as they chase promotion.

Prior to moving south, Robertson played in the States for Spokane Shine and enjoyed success at Glasgow City and Hibs, winning the treble with the City in 2013 and racking up three Scottish Cups and four League Cups over two spells with the Edinburgh side. Highly rated on both sides of the border, Robertson’s presence in the middle of park will provide a spark for new manager Fran Alonso’s side.
