Celtic FC Women’s new innovative partnership with Catapult

Celtic FC Women’s team is delighted to announce a new innovative partnership with Catapult, the world leader in elite sports performance solutions with the aim to empower every athlete and team on earth to perform at their best. Now Celtic FC Women will benefit from Catapult’s Vector, the company’s seventh-generation wearable technology.

Vector is sport's most advanced wearable athlete monitoring solution, providing leading in-stadium performance, enhanced live data analysis, and heart rate monitoring. The technology supplies objective data to help quantify performance and help staff make informed decisions on athlete workload, injury risk, and return-to-play.

Chris Hill, Business Development Manager at Catapult, said: “We are truly excited by our innovative new partnership with Celtic FC Women.

“The club’s decision to partner with us and integrate Vector and Vision [video analysis technology] to enhance their athlete monitoring programme is the first of its kind in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

"Celtic FC Women’s commitment towards building a culture of performance excellence and professionalism was evident right from the start. and we look forward to seeing them lead the way within the women’s game in Scotland.

“For us, it’s rewarding to contribute to the club’s progress both on the pitch and off it, with the creation of wider opportunities for women in sport and their local university partner.

“We wish Fran Alonso, David Haley, and the players all the very best for the remainder of the season and beyond. I’d also like to personally thank Gordon and Aoibhin from the club’s commercial team for their role in shaping this partnership between Celtic FC Women and Catapult.”

Gordon Kaye, Celtic’s Head of Business Development, said: “Catapult has an excellent track record in working with athletes performing at the highest level in sport. Catapult Vector allows our sports scientists to monitor a phenomenal amount of player data.

"Having such a detailed analysis of performance parameters is vital to understanding the players’ fitness levels to manage loading throughout the season. Performance data is even more vital, given recent interruptions to the current campaign and the number of league games the players will face over the next three months.

“We are delighted that Chris Hill and the Catapult team have chosen to work with Celtic’s Women’s team, and we look forward to developing a long-term relationship.”
